THE DANCE OF THE DOLLS - US launch
There were many moments last week when I thought I might be dreaming. And yet there I was, very much awake, in the famous P&T Knitwear book shop in the East Village, New York City, talking to a packed-out audience about my novel THE DANCE OF THE DOLLS.
I am incredibly grateful to my in-conversation partner, Amita Parikh, for launching my novel with me. She is the talented author of the historical fiction novel THE CIRCUS TRAIN, and I felt very lucky that she was there with me last week. Amita had taken so much time and care in preparing the event, and I loved answering her questions about the writing process, the history behind the novel, my ambitions as a writer, and how my background as a dancer led to the creation of this book.
Thank you to an excellent audience, the staff at P&T Knitwear for opening up their store for events such as this, and to everyone at Union Square & Co for making this all possible. Working with Claire Wachtel, my wonderful editor, has been a privilege and I am excited for more to come.
THE DANCE OF THE DOLLS is now out in hardback, e-book, and audio from all book shops.
